On Sunday the 15th of June, This Is My Brave Australia in partnership with Boorowa Rotary hosted Songs of Resilience.

Songs of Resilience was a storytelling event focused on mental health and reducing stigma around mental health.

Founder of This Is My Brave Australia (TIMBA) Tim Daly said the event focused on local stories.

“The event featured seven local storytellers — including Hilltops Mayor Brian Ingram — sharing their lived and living experiences of mental health challenges.”

The event was held at the Boorowa Central School Auditorium and despite the chilly weather and the rain, more than 60 people attended to listen to stories from the region.

“More than 60 attendees from across the region, including Boorowa, Cowra, and Young, listened with open hearts as stories of hope, struggle, and resilience were shared from the stage.”

TIMBA is a mental health charity dedicated to breaking the stigma associated with mental health/illness one story at a time.

“The aim of Songs of Resilience is to break down the stigma surrounding mental health and create space for honest conversations.”

“While the event may have lasted only one afternoon, its impact is expected to ripple through families, workplaces, and community spaces for weeks and months to come,” said Tim.

Tim had a long list of people to thank for their help and support with the event.
