Stars of Young 2025 has raised a huge amount of money for the Cancer Council, surpassing all expectations.

Community Fundraising Co-Ordinator Meagan Vearing said, “We’re thrilled to share that we’ve now raised an incredible $130,340.15 — a record-breaking total for the event.”

“This is particularly special as we only held one show this year, after initially planning for two. Our original goal for the single night was $80,000, so to have surpassed that by such a huge margin is truly amazing.”

This year’s Stars of Young culminated in a one night extravaganza held at the Young Services Club at the end of June.

The show was a sell out, with all 315 tickets sold, providing an amazing atmosphere for the night.

The stars held fundraising events in the lead up to the night, as well as spending ten weeks perfecting their dance moves for the event.

Best Dressed for the night went to Corey McNair.

Highest Fundraiser:

  • 1st: Chris Duff – $43,299.30

  • 2nd: Meg & Xavier – $21,433.00

  • 3rd: Brian Davis – $12,811.00

Judges’ Award:

Maria Zirkee – for her powerful pole dance to “Survivor.”

“Maria is a breast cancer survivor whose strength and courage shone through in every moment of her performance,” said Meagan.

“Their energy, joy and connection had the whole crowd cheering,” said Meagan.

“Special mention must go to Emma Duffey and Brooke Hurth-Gye for their outstanding choreography and dance skills — their performances were an absolute highlight,” said Meagan.

Stars of Young is in its fourth year after a hiatus post COVID and has raised over $380,000 for Cancer Council NSW.
