Tony Flanery has served 3 terms on Councils, 2 on the former Harden Shire and 1 on Hilltops.

He believes he’s made significant contributions towards Hilltops, including the Harden Streetscape Upgrade and Murrimboola Creek Precinct upgrade, including gaining a $1.8 million Government grant.

“I was a main driver behind the $12 million Cunningar Rail Upgrade, including a $2.5 million Government grant I spent many hours working on. Growers are now receiving $5-$7/t more. The high volume and quick outloading facilities meant Cunningar didn’t close early like many sites that weren’t able to handle the season’s volume of grain.”

Tony strongly believes in getting involved in the community and trying to make a difference. He spent 10 years on the Board of St Lawrence Home Galong and 6 years on the Committee of the Harden Junior Soccer Club.

“The last 4 years of Hilltops Council has been difficult for many reasons but a lot has been achieved. A new rating structure has been adopted and the LEP’s been finalised and awaiting Government approval. Sporting facilities, village halls and other community amenities have been upgraded.”

“It’s important you have a strong voice on the next Council and I believe I provide that.”
