The Book Nook’s opening was Halloween themed.

The Rotary Club of Murrumburrah-Harden’s second hand bookshop The Book Nook had a very successful opening last week.

The opening took place last Thursday and was Halloween themed.

Rotarian Rita O’Connor was pleased with how the opening went.

“The opening of The Book Nook was fabulous. Thanks to Councillor Tony Flanery for officially opening it. Centaine Walters created impressive decorations in our Halloween theme.”

“The night was well supported and everyone brought a surplus of food. Thank you to the many people who have helped this project come to fruition,” said Rita.

The Book Nook is calling for volunteers to help staff the not-for-profit second-hand bookshop, with the income distributed by Rotary to local activities.

Volunteers will meet and host visitors, guide them to what’s available, chat and share tea/coffee, have fun and record sales with no complicated computers or electronics.

The shop will operate three days a week, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 10am to 4pm. Shifts are 3 hours long with 10am to 1pm and 1pm to 4pm available.

The Book Nook is located at the Old Tennis Court Clubhouse, Albury Street, Harden.
