The 151st Young Show was once again a huge success thanks to the hardworking committee and community support.
There were returning events, old favourites and new categories in the ever popular Pavilion. Young Show Society President Emma Godsell was very happy with how the show went.
“Our show went extremely well! The support we received from the community each year is outstanding, and this year was no different!”
“Our first Yard Dog Trial in 10 years was a huge success. Our Horsepower show draws crowds to our Main Arena each year, and we are glad to have the space to be able to do it.” Emma was especially pleased with the youth competitions.
“Our Youth Competitions were outstandingly represented, with Edwina Kelly winning our Young Woman Competition, Jake Davis winning Rural Ambassador and Gabreelle Kemp winning Junior Young Woman Competition.”
“Ashleigh Carberry, who was our other entrant in the Junior Young Woman Competition, deserves a huge congratulations as well.”
“They all pushed themselves out of their comfort zone and we are proud to have them represent our town,” said Emma.
The Pavilion saw a new category in the mix, adding new entries to view.
“Our Pavilion as always was supported quite well by our community, with our new class “Pasta Art”, sponsored by Quayle Milling, a huge hit this year.”
“The most talked about section - Supreme Champion Weed - saw our Ag Produce section have the largest number of entries in recent years and was taken out by Finn Gordon.”
“It was great to see our town come out and enjoy the day.”
“Our committee will have a well deserved rest for the next few months before we gear up for next year, with our AGM in February,” said Emma.
