The Rotary Club of Murrumburrah-Harden’s second-hand bookshop initiative The Book Nook is calling for volunteers. The Book Nook will hold it’s grand opening at 6pm tonight, Thursday the 30th of October with a Halloween theme and drinks and nibbles available. Volunteers are needed to staff the not-for-profit second-hand bookshop, with the income distributed by Rotary to local activities. Volunteers will meet and host visitors, guide them to what’s available, chat and share tea/coffee, have fun and record sales with no complicated computers or electronics. The shop will operate three days a week, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 10am to 4pm. Shifts are 3 hours long with 10am to 1pm and 1pm to 4pm available. Volunteering weekly, fortnightly, 3rd weekly, monthly or even casual are options so there’s something to suit everyone. The Book Nook is located at the Old Tennis Court Clubhouse, Albury Street, Harden.
