A new trial bus route connecting Cowra and Canberra will make stops in two Hilltops towns.

On its way from Wyangala through Cowra, the bus will stop in Murringo and Boorowa, providing residents a transport link to Canberra.

Minister for Regional Transport and Roads Paul Toole said the Wyangala to Canberra service is one of 13 new public transport routes being trialled to link communities to nearby towns, cities or existing public transport services. “NSW TrainLink staff will be heading out to more communities across the State in the coming weeks to give customers the chance to have their say on how the new services would work best for them,” Mr Toole said.

“We want to hear from residents as to which timetable they prefer for the trial services, along with feedback on what transport options best suit their needs. It’s important we get to hear from the people who are going to use these services and get their feedback on how they would like to connect with neighbouring communities.”

Residents will have the opportunity to provide feedback on the weekly service, with NSW TrainLink booths being set up around the state, with consultation on the Cowra to Canberra route starting next month.

Member for Cootamundra Steph Cooke said, “It will be a weekly day return service travelling from Wyangala through Cowra, Murringo and Boorowa and so I am calling on residents in these communities to get ready to let us know how they think the service would work most efficiently for them.”
