A brand new contest is coming to this year’s Boorowa Irish Woolfest - an Upcycled Fashion Contest.
The contest will see participants create a new garment from other items such as a garment, linen, bags etc.
The materials used in the fashion piece must be 100% upcycled other than thread or interfacing.
The fashion piece must also contain at least 50% wool in keeping with Woolfest.
The entry must also be fully wearable.
The contest is open to everyone with three categories:
Junior: 11 - 14 years
Intermediate: 15- 18 years
Open: 18 years and over
The cash prize pool starts at $50 and will grow as more sponsors come on board.
Entries opened on the 31st of March and will close on Friday the 29th of August.
Entry forms and information packs are available from the Boorowa Community Op Shop or sponsors Ray White Rural Boorowa, Birds, Bees & Me and Lyn’s Sewing Service.
