Virtual activities for Harden Kite Festival

Written by: The Hilltops Phoenix

2019 Harden Kite Festival.

Despite the Harden Kite Festival having to be cancelled in its traditional sense, there is still plenty of kite fun to be had with the virtual activities organized by the Harden Kite Festival Committee.

There are a range of activities catering to all ages including a virtual kids colouring in competition, a virtual photo competition, local kite flying maps and tutorials for kite making and kite flying. There are also profiles on professional kite flyers as well as a survey to have your say on future festivals.

New Chair of the Harden Kite Festival Committee Lucy said, “We are sorry we won’t see many of you this year, we hope everyone can be encouraged to make or go fly a kite! We would love you to check out our website for free activities and competitions. We are very grateful for our sponsors. Lets hope next year we can see some big, bright kites in Harden skies!”

The kids colouring in competition closes on Tuesday the 13th of October and kids can win a kite as a prize.

The photo competition closes on Friday the 16th of October and has a cash prize of $25 for each category for the 12 and under age group, $50 for each category for the 13 to 18 age group and $100 for each category in the Open section. Participants can share their experiences via social media with the hashtags #letsgoflyakite and #hardenkitefestival
