What an interesting year 2020 has been for Wombat Public School! Even with the restrictions and missing out on so many of our usual activities, we have had a year full of new experiences and fantastic learning!
The students of Wombat PS enjoyed a sports carnival this term. The students entered each event with enthusiasm and showed great sportsmanship and encouragement toward each other’s successes. We are looking forward to meeting with our partner small schools for our usual sports days in 2021, including hosting the Brown Thackeray sports day that has been running for over 70 years!
The Wombat community sports ground opened up a brand new basketball court and tennis courts. We have enjoyed our strolls down to the sports ground utilising these amazing facilities so close to our school!
We have been continuing our gardening sessions and have been enjoying taking vegetables home for our parents! We also love to have a snack as we garden! We are looking forward to getting back to our weekly cooking sessions as soon as we can.
We have welcomed our Mini-Kindy students, our 2021 kindergarten students who are having transition visits ready for school next year! During one of their visits we learnt about Remembrance Day. We made poppies and observed 2 minutes silence.
