Final games of the Pennants were played at the Young Bowling Club on Saturday, 7th March. Young Grade 3 side won outright having a convincing last game against Grenfell with the aggregate score being 58/18. Young gained 39 points all up.

Cootamundra Country Club were the winners of Grade 4 Pennants with a score of 14.5 points while Grenfell finished on 6.5 points. Young Grade 3 side and Cootamundra Grade 4 side will compete in the Regional Pennant Play off to be held at Young 15/16 April.

The Internal Pennant competition was also finalised on Saturday. Cootamundra Ex Services Club won with 13.5 points followed by Young with 8 points, Harden 6.5 and Boorowa Ex Services Club on 2. After a lovely lunch in the Asian restaurant, trophies, flags and certificates were awarded to the winning teams.

At social bowls on Tuesday, 10 March, 19 ladies enjoyed their morning of bowls. Scores were based on 1 for winning an end, 3 for winning team and an extra point if 4 bowls won at an end. Overall winner was the team of Margaret Glasheen, Heather Bailey and Lee Veitch who played Robyn Tierney, Jill Rosen and Kate Cooper. Margaret and Jill rolled great resting touchers. Other teams to play were Mary Frost, Ann Gardner and Margaret Gailey who were beaten by Chris Hancock, Pat Reid and Elsie Hines. Joy Murray, Dianne DeBritt, Judy Watson and Kathryn Betcher played a fours game against Joy Murray (double lead), Zita Farrell, Therese Ruhl and Robyn Apps with both teams having a draw.

The jackpot was not won.

The South West District Open Fours competition will be played at Harden this coming Saturday, 14th March. The Senior Fours will be played next Wednesday and Thursday at Boorowa. Best of luck to all teams as well as good bowling.

A reminder that the monthly meetings will be held every 2nd Thursday of the month starting at 9am followed by skills and Pennant practice as well as providing assistance to any new bowlers attending at 10.30am.
