Young Bowling Club

Young Bowling Club

The Young Bowling Club was established in May 1921. Currently the club has 115 registered male bowlers of whom approximately 90 are active bowlers. There are approximately 25 active women bowlers. Both male and female bowlers are involved in local Pennant competitions, District and Regional Championships as well as representing at zone and regional level.

There are organised bowl matches at the club every week, this includes both competitive events and social bowls. The club’s major social bowls event is the Guy Pickering Charity Challenge which is now in its 15th year. Through this competition the club makes annual donations totalling $1000 to local charities.

Also at the Young Bowling Club is the fabulous Bistro run by the award winning “tb Catering”. The Chef is Tone Boldrini, who has been cooking both locally and also around New South Wales and Victoria for over thirty years. The Bistro only serve top quality produce and try to use locally sourced products whenever possible and available. Each night they serve handmade pizza bases with true authentic toppings. They only serve handmade pasta sauces, fresh cut steak and in house prepared lamb cutlets and schnitzels. “tb Catering” aims to support all local charities and fundraising activities. They can cater for your family birthdays, weddings, engagement parties or even a wake. Chef and Owner Tone Boldrini says he is lucky enough to do what he loves every day.

“For me life is about family and food and I’m privileged enough to be able to enjoy them every day.”

Numerous local organisations have used the club’s bowls and catering facilities for social functions and fund–raising evenings. The club welcomes new members whether they are social or bowling members or call the Bistro to organise a tailored menu for your next function or even just drop by for a meal.
