Members of the Young Hospital Auxiliary held an inspection of the new ceiling mural in the dental clinic of the Young Health Services following their September meeting.

The mural is the second in the dental clinic to be funded by the Auxiliary after the first proved to be a great success.

Staff at the dental clinic, Sharon and Bronwyn, told the Auxiliary members how the ceiling picture would distract the attention of children while they were receiving dental treatment, leading to a much happier experience for the youngsters.

Both murals were designed and hand-painted by talented local artist, Sharon Fensom. The earlier mural was of a marine scene of fish and coral that had some of the young clients declaring the pink fish moved. This second mural is of Australian animals and birds.

Auxiliary president, Janice Ward said plans were well underway for the Auxiliary’s 2023 Open Gardens Day on Sunday, November 5.
