A Boys To The Bush community hub will be established in Young.

NSW Nationals Member for Cootamundra, Steph Cooke said it was incredible to welcome the announcement of nearly $500,000 to establish a Boys To The Bush Community Hub in Young and Leeton, thanks to the support of Nationals Minister for Youth The Hon Ben Franklin and CEO and Co-Founder of the program Adam DeMamiel and his team.

The hub will be employ local people and provide more on-the-ground support for our youngsters.

“We have already seen the positive impact of Boys To The Bush locally, with several students from Young Public School involved by outreach from Forbes,” Ms Cooke said.

“It will make for a fantastic add-on to the range of support services that we have available in the region.”

“I look forward to staying in touch with the team at Boys To The Bush as they get going.”

Boys To The Bush is a not-for-profit charity that provides prevention and early intervention strategies for young men between the ages of nine and 22 who are at risk of disengagement.

Through mentoring, camps and wellbeing group sessions, Boys To The Bush offers programs that re-engage young men in regional areas with education and training, while supporting their mental health and wellbeing.

Boys To The Bush is all about making sure that young men know that they are not alone; that they don’t need to go it on their own.
