Young Women’s Bowls Club News

Congratulations to Margo Parker and Damien Miller who won the Regional Mixed Pairs play-off at Temora Recreation and Bowling Club. The pair beat teams from Leeton and Temora and will now go on to contest the State finals to be held at Tamworth in September. They are wished good bowling and good luck. They also won the Mixed Pairs Tournament held at Forbes on the weekend. A great effort as there were 42 teams competing.

President, Heather, thanked her executive of the past year for their valued support and friendship and wishes for the new executive to continue working together to strengthen the Club and membership.

Six ladies braved the cold, foggy morning last week for social bowls. They played 8 ends of consistency singles with Elsie Hines winning and Joy Murray second. This was followed by 8 ends of Triples with Jill Rosen, Ann Gardner and Joy Murray playing against Elsie Hines, Pat Reid and Julie Alavoine. A ten-all draw resulted. The ladies finished the morning celebrating Elsie’s birthday by going out to lunch.

Judith Mulligan from the Club is wished all the very best at Wagga this week when she contests the Regional Singles Play-off.

The Club Minor Singles will be played Tuesday, July 16 with Jenny Holt playing Jill Rosen, the winner of which will play Ann Gardner on Thursday, July 18. Social bowls are played Tuesday mornings starting at 10am with names in by 9.30am, also Thursday afternoons starting at 1.30pm with names in by 1pm. Any members of the public who would like to have a try of playing bowls are most welcome. The Club phone number is 6382 1112.
