Entries Open For Young Camera Club’s 27th Cherry Festival Photographic Competition

Entries for the Young Camera Club’s 27th Cherry Festival Photographic Competition are now open.

Entry forms for the competition are now available to be picked up from the Young Visitor Centre and are also available online at the Young Camera Club’s Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/groups/339559452741480

Young Camera Club Publicity Officer Narelle Howard is encouraging people to enter.

“It was wonderful to see the increase in entries from the local area last year and we would like to thank all who entered.”

“So we encourage you to be involved this year by getting in your entries, as well as by visiting this exhibition.”

There are 13 categories to choose from:

• People: Monochrome
• People: Colour
• Open Category: Monochrome
• Open Category: Colour
• Macro/Close Up: Colour
• Birds: Colour
• Animals: Colour
• Architecture/Design: Colour or Monochrome
• Landscape: Colour
• Junior Local Entry: Colour or Monochrome
• Waterscape: Colour
• Under 13 years: Colour or Monochrome
• 13 years - under 18 years: Colour or Monochrome

Prizes are awarded, including The Will Sibley Memorial Trophy (Champion Print), Helen Berridge Memorial Trophy (Junior Champion Print ) and the John van Rijswijk Memorial Encouragement Trophy (for a Junior entrant). This will also be the first year the Margaret Lackersteen Memorial Trophy (for the most successful Local Entry) is presented.

A People’s Choice Award will also be given.

The opening night of the exhibition will be held on Tuesday the 2nd of December at 7.30pm, upstairs in the Flamingo Room of the Young Services Club.

The exhibition will then run from 10am to 4pm from December the 3rd to December the 6th and from 10am to 2pm on December the 7th.

Entry to the opening night is $5 and includes refreshments.

Entry to the exhibition from December the 3rd to December the 7th is $2.

Young Camera Club meets on the second Wednesday of each month, except January, at 6:30pm.
