HYAG To Host Madd Youth Show

The Hilltops Youth Action Group is working hard behind the scenes in preparation for their second Madd Youth Show set to take place on April 10 from 5pm to 9pm.

Youth Engagement and Inclusion Officer, Georgia Thomaidis said that the free event focused on music, art, dance and drama.

“We are recruiting anyone interested in performing on the stage or showing their work,” Ms Thomaidis said.

“The only requirement is that they need to be under 25.”

“The event itself is open to everyone.”

The Madd Youth Show is just one of the projects the group is working on according to Ms Thomaidis.

“We’ve got a few things in the pipeline.”

Ms Thomaidis has been in her current role for just over 12 months and she currently has about 25 members in the group.

“Our youngest member is about 14 and the oldest is coming up to 25,” she said.

“I meet with them once a month and discuss issues that may have arisen for them.”

“I mainly do what they want me to do.”

“They love eating and they love to do fun stuff.”

Ms Thomiadis said that mental health was a big issue for the group at the moment and she was planning on running two events that were well received last year - R U OK Day and 30 Days of Happiness and Self-Care.
