Harden Country Women’s Association (CWA) held a very successful Spring High Tea on Saturday.

Secretary of the CWA branch Ros Bickford spoke about the operations of the CWA branch and thanked the community for their ongoing support of the activities that the CWA put on over the past 12 months.

Ros advised that for the past couple of years the branch’s fundraising efforts had focused on supporting victims of domestic and family violence throughout the district.

“However this year the branch members decided to support Bunyip Preschool which sustained a great deal of damage due to the hailstorm that hit in February. Profits from the High Tea and associated raffle are to be donated to Bunyip Preschool,” said Ros.

Ros thanked the members whose hard work made the event possible.

“Karyn Gray who organised the catering and did much of the cooking herself, ably assisted by her sister Lauren Irving, Tammy Cameron who kept the finances in order, Judy Shea and Jacqui Carter who helped on the day and Nettie Donnely who took the bookings and organised the games. A rousing round of applause was given for their efforts.”

Geraldine Gore from Canimbla was the winner of the raffle.
